Learning stuff

Little bit excited tonight, my Ma n Pa are currently somewhere in the air on their way Down Under!  We haven't seen them in over 2 years.   They will be here for 3 weeks, consequently I may be rather more absent than usual.

In the meantime, Robert has been teaching himself to write his letters.

This morning I signed him up to start School next January and noticed that most of the kids I know on the list are nearly (if not already) a year older than him.  I was a bit nervous about my decision so checked what his pre-school teacher thought this afternoon.  "Sandra" she said "he's ready."  She proceeded to tell me how he had  lectured her about something that he had 'read' on a piece of equipment this morning and how he happily gives a Show and Tell!  Phew!  He can't wait to be in Mrs B's class next year, not sure she feels the same...!

And talking about learning stuff, here's what I learnt over the weekend...

I have mastered the knit stitch and was doing ok on purl.  Not very exciting, but I was chuffed!

  1. Aaah, he's so cute and so grown up practising his letters! Sounds like he is going to adore school. Your knitting is so neat, keep at it, once you know knit and purl you can makes loads of stuff. I am knitting a ribbed scarf for my husband - knit 2, purl 2. A bit boring and it's taking forever, crochet is so much quicker. Hope he likes it once it's finished. It's not often I pick up the needles nowadays but I've seen a gorgeous cardigan pattern (quick and easy) so I will be on the look out for wool for that next. x

  5. Ooooh look at that knitting! Well done hon! A nice change to be working with needles instead of a hook huh. I saw a lovely knitted house on The Crafte Nook yesterday, so I'm trying to convince myself to dust off my needles and give it a go.

I've been unable to spend much time visiting all my fave blogs lately so had missed your previous post. Congrats on your bloggy anniversary - and look at that you've got even more followers now! How fabulous. I can relate to everything you've said, and found myself nodding along as a read! But isn't it lovely to think that people around the world are popping in for a visit? I absolutely love visiting you!!

    Have a fabulous weekend hon.
